Skalaindonesia.org – Central Aceh is famous for Gayo coffee and also the charming beauty of Lake Lut Tawar which is located among a group of hills. When you visit Central Aceh it feels like your eyes are so pampered with beauty that hypnotizes all eyes so you don't want to go home.

It would be too narrow to view the beauty of Central Aceh only from Lake Lut Tawar alone. From Takengon City, we can continue to enjoy the beauty if we walk towards the district. Ketol. The expanse of coffee plantations decorated with thin canopies with the warmth of the morning sun that still shyly emerges from behind the hills into an incomparable unity. We can see this view when traveling to Bah Village, Ketol District, Aceh Tengah.

Disasterchannel.co this time had the opportunity to share with the residents of Bah Village regarding disasters. We run the program “Develop Community Led on Disaster Risk Management”. This program is an initiation of the Indonesian Scale Foundation which is supported by PT. Mandala Multifinance Tbk. Bah Village is the place where this program is carried out, because this village is a village that experienced quite a severe impact after Seimbang Village, neighboring villages experienced massive damage and loss in the earthquake 2 June 2013 silam.

First, we held a discussion with the residents of Bah Village regarding their safety in facing disasters. Mr. Subhan as part of Rakyat Guna Mufakat (RGM)/ (BPD) tells the chronology of earthquake events in the year 2013 Then.

“We are located in Bah's original village (before relocation), jam 3 In the afternoon there was an earthquake. After the earthquake, next to a landslide river. Five residents died because they were buried by landslides, there were some accidents (luka) taken to hospital. Waktu itu jalan-jalan juga ikut rusak karena gempa” kata Subhan.

Medium mode, Kepala Desa Bah atau biasa disebut Reje juga menceritakan pengalamannya menghadapi gempa kala itu.

“After the earthquake, Many infrastructure facilities are still damaged. Many residents' houses collapsed, "The river water disappeared for several hours because there was a landslide upstream of the river," said Mude.

After the earthquake occurred, all the residents panicked and immediately saved their families. Aftershocks continued to occur several days after the main earthquake. Some residents of Bah Village fled near the school building.

Then Mr. Subhan continued his story and said, "The data from the Dandim stated that (village) The original sump cannot be re-inhabited. After some time, little clouds (village head) decided to relocate to the current location occupied by Bah Village residents."

With a long and not easy journey, All residents of Bah Village survived and are trying to recover until now. Facing such a big disaster, It turns out that not much has helped increase the capacity of residents in disaster management. Because village residents only receive food aid, physical buildings and also psychosocial support. Kedatangan tim dari Yayasan Skala menjadi yang pertama untuk memfasilitasi warga mengenali ancaman dan meningkatkan kapasitasnya dalam menanggulangi bencana di masa depan.

After sharing the collective memory of the disaster, Bah Village residents were invited to carry out participatory mapping. Focus Group Discussion Participants (FGD) divided into two groups, the first group mapped the existing dangers or threats of disaster, sementara kelompok lainnya memetakan jalur evakuasi.

At the end of the activity, Participants convey the results of discussions in making participatory maps. The enthusiasm of the participants was clearly visible when presenting the results of the discussion. They really enjoyed every discussion process that took place, bahkan sesekali diwarnai dengan canda tawa.

The long story of Bah Village recovering from the earthquake disaster that hit it ten years ago is extraordinary. As a farewell greeting from this meeting, The team took a photo with all the FGD participants present. They are looking forward to the team's arrival to continue the program as well as visit again in this beautiful village.
